Classical 101 Adds More Local Programming During Satellite Outage

If you've noticed some differences in the programs on Classical 101 the last few days, there's a reason.

After several weeks of intermittent problems with our satellite transmission line, it finally became too unstable for us to use. We've been working on a fix, but it's proving difficult.

Since we're not able to air anything live from satellite, we're programming lots of extra hours of music from our own library to ensure you have the music you rely on.

Because we have a pretty small staff of announcers, some of the overnight hours may be unhosted. But we're doing what we can to fill in the gaps.

Thanks for your patience as we work to provide you with inspiring and engaging music during a challenging situation!

Classical 101 Program Director Cheryl Dring moved to Columbus in 2016, having worked in public radio since college. With stops in Austin, Madison, Dayton, Sacramento, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport, Louisiana, she has seen much of the country through the lens of public radio and local arts.
