Columbus is blessed with a vibrant, exciting music scene. It is especially blessed with an amazing array of talented musicians and composers, "Locally Sourced" music making, if you will.

If you have never heard Zach Koors' music, you're in for a treat this Sunday at the Clintonville Woman's Club.

One writer described his music this way...

The music of Columbus, OH native Zach Koors seeks to bridge the classic with the contemporary, integrating a unique mixture of fresh harmony, inviting lyricism and robust rhythm. While impacting audiences across the country, Koors' work has also been described in his hometown as "organically composed music written to nourish its community." —Attend. Arts/Culture/Media

Variants of Seven is a work for three marimbas which has echoes of Philip Glass, but with Koors' unique voice.

Zach Koors has written a piece he calls Etch, which is the centerpiece of his Sunday 7:00pm concert. He wrote it for a mixed instrumental ensemble, specifically assembled for this piece/performance.  The ensemble is made up of eighteen Columbus artists who regularly perform with symphony orchestras and hold faculty positions in colleges around Central Ohio. It is an intriguing combination of instruments. Clarinet, 2 Alto Saxophones, Bassoon, Trumpet, 3 Percussionists, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Harp, Piano, Electric Piano, 3 Violins, and 2 Violas.

Etch should be an amazing evening of music. The concert also includes a work for for piano and percussion and one for two alto saxes.

The concert is free to the public at 7:00pm, October 29th, at the Clintonville Woman's Club, 3951 N High St, Columbus, OH, near the Park of Roses
