Conrad Tao Talks with Boyce Lancaster about his World Premiere Performance with ProMusica

VENESSA MENEREY
Conrad Tao and Boyce Lancaster about to discuss his World Premiere performance of 'Over' with ProMusica

ProMusica Chamber Orchestra opened their 2017-2018 season Sunday evening, October 8th, with a familiar guest artist/composer, some familiar favorites, and something brand new.

Pianist/composer Conrad Taois no stranger to Columbus audiences. This was third appearance with ProMusica...his first coming when he was 12 years old. While the second half of the evening  featured one of the towering masterpieces of music, Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, the first half belonged to Conrad. He perform his newest work for piano and orchestra called, Over. He also performs the first concerto he ever learned, Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major, Hob. XVIII/11. Though he has known and loved this piece for many years, it will be the first time he has ever performed it publicly.

Conrad and I spoke on Friday about his performance, his new piece, and a lifetime devoted to the joy of music making.
