Grammy-Winning Guitarist Jason Vieaux Talks w/Boyce Lancaster on Classical 101

GMD Three
Grammy-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux speaks and performs at Otterbein University Tuesday, March 15

Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux was in town recently as part of the Otterbein Guitar Festival, in a program called The Guitar and Its Fretted Friends.

In light of his recent Grammy win over some strong competition, (pianists Leon Fleisher & Daniel Trifonov, cellist Xavier Phillips, and harpsichordistJory Vinikour), Jason gave a talk about Building a Grammy-Winning Career. We talked about that and his upcoming performance.

Later that day, Vieaux was part of an evening featuring performances of traditional guitar music from Russia, Spain, and South America. Jason is director of guitar studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, which he has headed since 2001. In 2011, he co-founded the guitar department at The Curtis Institute of Music. As if that doesn't keep him busy enough, he helped launch theJason Vieaux School of Classical Guitar with ArtistWorks Inc., offering guitar students worldwide the opportunity to study one-on-one online study with Vieaux.
