Carpe Diem String Quartet is in Columbus this weekend with their musical guest, guitarist Nicolo Spera with an exciting program. Boccherini's Guitar Concerto #4, Fandango, Hugo Wolf's Italian Serenade, and Edvard Grieg's Quartet for Strings in g are scheduled. They are at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington for three performances beginning Friday, September 19, at 8pm and Sunday, September 21 at 3pm, along with a special Family Concert Sunday at 1pm. The earlier Sunday concert is for families and is fun, hands-on, entertaining, and free. All ages are welcome. As if that wouldn't be enough to pull off, Carpe Diem String Quartet also heads to Columbus Commons downtown Saturday evening to collaborate with Columbus Dance Theatre and Get the Led Outfor an evening of music and dance called Rock Out in the Park. This is also a free event. If you missed our conversation and their performance Friday morning on Classical 101, you can hear it here.
