Otters Play the Piano at Washington's National Zoo (Yes, Really)

Above: Otters tickle the ivories at at Washington D.C.'s National Zoo. We've all read the reports that playing a musical instrument can help improve cognitive skills and reduce stress in human beings. Now, according to NPR,  the otter community at the National Zoo are also enjoying music's benefits. The zoo's animal enrichment program gives animals opportunities to engage with musical instruments and other interactive equipment. The otters in the video above have access to an electronic keyboard twice a month to "work on their sight, touch and hearing," according to a zoo official quoted by the Associated Press.
