What started as a not-unusual situation is rapidly approaching the unthinkable, as leaders of the Minnesota Orchestra seem prepared not only to delay the start of the 2013-2014 season in their brand-new home, but also to give up this season's Carnegie Hall appearance and lose vaunted conductor Osmo Vänskä.
âOsmo may have to leave,â? Richard Davis, chairman of the orchestraâs negotiating team, said in a meeting Tuesday with the Star Tribune editorial board. âThe board is resolved to know that that is a risk. Carnegie, the opening of the hall. All three may have to fall.â?
