Los Romeros and Music for Baroque Guitar on Next Fretworks

Saturday evening on Fretworks will feature the great Spanish guitar quartet Los Romeros with music of Vivaldi and Manuel de Falla, and we'll have music of the 17th century by Francesco Corbetta for Baroque guitar in the mix.  You can enjoy the Guitar Concerto of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Variations on a theme of Mozart from Fernando Sor. In addition to the "Royal Family of the Guitar," the Romeros, lutenist and guitarist Jakob Lindberg will be presented, as well as another Swedish classical guitar virtuoso, Goran Sollscher.  So, our artists this week are from Spain and Sweden and the music from Spain, Brazil and Italy,  and if we have enough time, we may hear from Australian-born John Williams again with something from the movies but not by that John Williams. I hope you can join me for an hour of great music for the classical guitar every Saturday evening from 7 until 8pm on Fretworks here on Classical 101. Here's a bit of Los Romeros performing at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan in 2009 on the occasion of their 50th anniversary concert: http://youtu.be/YyYFeHemcvI
