"Ode to Joy" Flash Mob Unites Hundreds

The finale of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony may well be the single most famous movement in all of classical music. Its majestic music and its text (to a poem by Friedrich Schiller) espousing brotherly love have become the soundtrack of choice for occasions when humanity desires to celebrate being one with itself. And what says "Citizens of the world, unite!" better than a flash mob? It was only a matter of time before someone created a flash mob - one of those great mass displays of humanity in all its collective inventiveness  - on the "Ode to Joy" of Beethoven's Ninth. In the video above, musicians of Spain's Vallès Symphony Orchestra participate in a flash mob to celebrate the city of Sabadell, Spain, on the 130th anniversary of the founding of Banco Sabadell.
