Cellist Sara Sant'Ambrogio Live on Classical 101 Friday, Feb. 24

Above: Sara Sant'Ambrogio strives to break the world record for the fastest performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee. A winner of the Eighth International Tchaikovsky Violoncello Competition and a founding member of the Grammy Award-nominated Eroica Trio, cellist Sara Sant'Ambrogio will perform live on Classical 101 Friday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. Sant'Ambrogio will perform selections from the Bach solo cello suites, her recoding of which garnered a Grammy Award nomination and was hailed by Gramophone magazine as "a miracle of sound." Sant'Ambrogio will also chat with me about her exciting new musical ventures and what you can expect from her performances this weekend with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Be sure to tune in to Classical 101 Friday at 1 p.m. for this special live event!

Jennifer Hambrick unites her extensive backgrounds in the arts and media and her deep roots in Columbus to bring inspiring music to central Ohio as Classical 101’s midday host. Jennifer performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago before earning a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
