Israel Philharmonic Orchestra Aims to Sue Alleged Documents Thief

The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra has filed a request to join the National Library of Israel in a civil suit against a man accused of stealing hundreds of historical documents from the organizations and putting them up for sale on eBay, according to a report at Haaretz.com. The civil suit comes after state prosecutors closed a case against Meir Biezunski; police could not find evidence to substantiate allegations that Biezunski stole historical documents from several Israeli organizations. The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra says original letters from the likes of Arthur Rubinstein and Yehudi Menuhin, and historical photographs, are among the 300 items stolen from its archive.
