War is a journey from which no one really returns. Some soldiers literally never come home. And those lucky enough to survive their tours of duty almost certainly come back forever changed. A new program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., aims to help veterans navigate their return to life after combat through classes in visual art, writing and music, according to a BBC News report. The National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) also has technology that can map how art therapies change the anatomy and functioning of the brain, the center's director, James Kelly, told the BBC.
