"New" Beethoven Quartet Movement To Be Performed

Beethoven's been dead for nearly two centuries, but one of his string quartet movements has just been born. Working from some of Beethoven's famous musical sketches, British musicologist Barry Cooper has reconstructed a string quartet movement Beethoven had discarded months before completing his String Quartet Op. 18, No. 2, according to the BBC. The reconstructed movement will be performed Thursday, Sept. 29, by the Danel Quartet at Britain's University of Manchester. Read more: "'Lost' Beethoven work to be aired" (BBC)
