Good News from Kentucky: Kentucky Symphony Beating The Odds

Janelle Gelfand, arts editor for the Cincinnati Enquirer shares this good news from neighboring Kentucky:

For two decades, James R. Cassidy has presented some of the most imaginative symphonic programs in the region with his Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. Despite tough economic times, his orchestra is a survivor - and Cassidy is still coming up with ideas to keep it alive.

The Kentucky Symphony is doing well with innovative management and fearless programming. Kentucky is also the home of the Louisville Orchestra. Like many, this premiere ensemble has been struggling financially. A visit to their website also shows some interesting marketing techniques. I wonder though, why one has to look twice to find out about the MUSIC being performed. Never mind. Good to know the Kentucky Symphony is thriving and the Louisville Orchestra - long a home for new American music - is fighting back. Read More: Kentucky Symphony stays innovative (Cincinnati.com)
