Opera Stars Crowing about NYC Opera's Move from Lincoln Center

The fur is flying in the opera world. The New York City Opera has scarcely started packing for its planned move away from Lincoln Center and already big-name singers have openly decried the move, according to a New York Times report. Tenor Placido Domingo, soprano Joyce DiDonato, baritone Sherrill Milnes and tenor Jose Carreras are but a few of the stars whose names appeared on an open letter penned principally by soprano Catherine Malfitano and sent to the New York Times yesterday protesting the opera company's move. The letter wields incisive rhetoric to criticize the company's management, accusing it of the "dismembering of City Opera, piece by piece, person by person." What do you think?
