Worthington String Quartet Featured on NPR's From The Top

Quartet Toujours from Columbus's Chamber Music Connection will appear on an upcoming episode of NPR's From the Top, a program featuring America’s best young classical musicians hosted by pianist Christopher O’Riley. Quartet Toujours' performance was recorded before a live audience in the Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana on April 26, 2011 and airs nationally on NPR stations this week. You can hear the program on Classical 101 on Sunday, June 19 at 7 p.m. Ohio-based Quartet Toujours is comprised of 18-year-old violinist Heeyeon Chung from Worthington, 17-year-old violinist Kaho Sugawara from Dublin, 16-year-old violist Eva Kennedy from Worthington, and 18-year-old cellist Ruthie Cordray from Worthington. The quartet is coached by Deborah Price and they were winners of the Open Division of the Midwest Young Artists 4th Annual Discover National Chamber Music Competition at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. On the show, Quartet Toujours performs the third movement from String Quartet No.3 in F major, Op.73 by Dmitri Shostakovich. They are also  joined by special guest Michael Feinstein, host Christopher O’Riley, and 15-year-old harpist Katherine Kapelsohn from Bloomfield, Indiana, to perform “Love Walked Inâ€? by George Gershwin, arr.
