[THIS IS JUST AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A PERFORMANCE; NO REVIEW/BACKGROUND] Columbus's First Congregational Church presents its annual service of Lessons and Carols Sunday, December 19 at 4 p.m. Stay warm at home with cocoa or other seasonal libations and hear this exquisite service broadcast live on Classical 101. James E. Bobb, Minister of Music at First Church conducts the First Church Choir, Treble Choir, Teen Choir and the First Church Ringers. The music includes works by Johannes Pachelbel, Franz Biebl, Mendelssohn and Benjamin Britten. Lesson readers come from throughout the Columbus and First Church Communities. Mr. Bobb writes, "We will have children and teens in three positions throughout the nave with an instrument at each position (pump organ, harpsichord and guitar) with the adults in the rear gallery and side aisles." This will be challenging radio but a chance to hear new and familiar holiday music in true, antiphonal splendor. First Congregational Church presents top quality music in a fantastic acoustic.
