[THIS SHOULD EITHER BE MERGED WITH LATER POST OR TRASHED] Those folks in Philadelphia are still at it! More random acts of culture. After seeing Boyce Lancaster's blog post, and greatly enjoying the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah in Macy's, I just had to add one more. The drinking song from Act One of Verdi's La Traviata suddenly erupted amid surprised shoppers in Philadelphia, but with singers holding aloft beverages in paper cups, apropos the setting, rather than the crystal goblets and wine glasses of the original setting of the opera. As we head into the revved up shopping season, this should lift your spirits, and be sure to see Boyce's post with the Handel if you haven't seen it yet.
