Messiah from St. Joseph Cathedral

TWO AUDIO FILES     [caption id="attachment_7149" align="alignright" width="150" caption="At St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus (Kevin Petrilla)"][/caption] We aired the December 9, 2007 performance of Messiah live from St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus, with the Orchestra and Choir of the Cathedral conducted by Paul Thornock. It's become a tradition with us here at WOSU to air this performance every year: tune in Wednesday, December 23 at 7 PM for this year's broadcast. One of the reasons I so enjoy this performance is that about ninety percent of those playing and singing live within a thirty-minute drive of downtown Columbus. This is truly a holiday celebration of a great work everyone loves, performed by "your friends and neighbors." To tempt you: For Unto Us a Child is Born [audio:unto-us5.mp3] and of course, Hallelujah [audio:hallelujah1.mp3] Do join us for the complete performance, Wednesday, December 23 at 7 PM.
