Meet Soprano Deborah Voigt

Deborah Voigt, America's foremost dramatic soprano, has a busy concert season ahead, beginning and ending with Puccini heroines, with some Wagner and Strauss along the way. Prior to opening  Chicago's Lyric Opera season on Sept. 26 in Tosca, she'll be singing opera scenes of Wagner and Strauss with the Hong Kong Philharmonic for their season opener on Sept. 4th. And how will her opera season end next June? Making her role debut as Minnie in Puccini's The Girl of the Golden West with the San Francisco Opera. More about her here. This past March, Debbie, as her friends and family call her, was the subject of a television profile. She's likable, down-to-earth, trimmer, and still packing a powerful voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=459-Ykif1uk There's much to admire about this woman. And while you're at it, why not check out her spoof on the little black dress. Nice to see she can have fun about something which caused such an uproar in the news. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQqPauyGiVU
