The fourth Johnstone Woodwind Master Series (JWMS) at The Ohio State University School of Music celebrates the oboe, and also welcomes Joseph Robinson, retired Principal Oboist of the New York Philharmonic and noted educator, as featured guest artist. One of the highlights of the four-day event is the judging of new compositions for oboe by six OSU student composers. I had the opportunity to speak with some of them about their music, their motivation, and inspiration. You can hear those conversations on our website in the Classical section.
