The King Arts Complex Board of Trustees has named Corey Favor as its news president and CEO.
Favor, 46, said Tuesday that for decades King Arts has elevated Black history, arts and culture, while shaping the lives of the community and is beloved by Columbus residents.
"My plan is to build on that history and that legacy. I want to expand its impact and its relevance, not just for now, but for the next generation and both locally and nationally," Favor said.
Favor replaces Regina Campbell, who left the organization in 2025. The King Arts board named Campbell as president and CEO in September 2024.
Campbell was suspended from her job in June 2025 during an internal investigation and left in July. In an email, King Arts Center spokesperson Dan Williamson said in an email that the board couldn't talk about personnel matters.
Since 2020, Favor has served as senior director of community engagement, arts and culture at Orange Barrel Media. There he built partnerships in the arts, education, nonprofit, business and cultural sectors.
Before that, Favor was in product management at OhioHealth and was an associate director in Ohio State University's Office of Marketing and Communications.
Favor, a Near East Side resident, chairs the Gateway Film Center advisory board, and serves on the boards and committees of Columbus College Art and Design, the Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation Board, CreativeOhio and Atlanta Contemporary, an art institute.
He said he believes that experience will help guide him in his new role.
"I'm bringing a new energy to the organization with deep ties locally and nationally that will help elevate the King Arts Complex and help prepare it for its future," he said. "I'm excited to be the next leader."
According to its 2024 tax filing, the King Arts Complex had $1.77 million in revenue and $1.67 million in expenses.
Favor said the organization is on sound financial footing. "The organization is strong and stable," Favor said.
Favor also said he has ideas for new programming that he will be discussing.
Favor is the husband of Franklin County Prosecutor Shayla Favor.
He begins his new job on April 8.
The King Arts Complex opened in 1987.
