Criminal Justice: Ohio's Parole Board

10:00

We're continuing our series on Ohio's criminal justice system, with a look at the process behind granting prisoners parole. The state has a very low parole rate, and many favor the alternative "judicial release," where inmates' sentences can be greatly reduced, but others fear it puts dangerous criminals back on the streets. We'll get a rare look this hour.

 Guests

  • David Singleton, executive director of the Ohio Justice and Policy Center
  • Cynthia Mausser, chair of the Ohio Parole Board
  • Raymond Brown, former inmate at Marion Correctional Institution, released through Ohio’s judicial release program
