Song Without Words: Late-Diagnosis Deafness

10:00

When Gerald Shea was a kid, "Be airful washing the trees" meant, "Be careful crossing the street." Shea wasn't foreign--he was deaf, and for thirty-four years, he thought everybody pieced together meaning from the muffled noises they heard. On this hour, we'll talk to Shea about how he excelled even before a diagnosis. We'll also talk to an audiologist about her work helping people hear, and hear for life.
