Jeni Britton Bauer, founder and owner of Jeniâs Ice Cream, joined All Sides with Ann Fisher on Thursday to talk about her new book, âJeniâs Splendid Ice Cream at Home.â? Jeni has been making ice cream from scratch for more than 15 years, and continues to experiment with new flavors to create the best flavor possible. Jeni said the keys to the best possible ice cream are taste, texture, consistency, and finish. "Iâm constantly trying new textures and flavors,â? Jeni said. âLooking for new ways of making ice cream." Jeni has eight locations in Columbus, one in Cleveland, and one more opening soon in Nashville.

Now the ability to create your own ice cream is possible in your own home with Jeniâs debut cookbook. âJeniâs Splendid Ice Cream at Home.â? (not yet in stores, but available to WOSU listeners!). âI wrote it almost as a love letter to our community,â? Jeni said. Jeni said she tweaked the recipe for home cooking, making the process easier without compromising the flavor. Jeni said the flavor you can make at home is almost âindistinguishableâ? from the ice cream she makes in her professional kitchen.
