Do you live in Hilliard, Dublin or Upper Arlington and regularly commute to Ohio State University? A new bus line may be able to help you get there faster.

COTA, or Central Ohio Transit Authority, reviewed data that indicated that many OSU students and staff live in Hilliard, Dublin and Upper Arlington.

“We see this is an opportunity to connect some of our customers who might have had to take two or three different lines to get to campus, and this is a way to get them directly there,” said Jeff Pullin, Director of Public Relations at COTA,

COTA’s new proposed bus line 30 will be open to the public in the fall of 2026. Its route is being reviewed and community members are encouraged to share their thoughts.

A community meeting to discuss the new bus line is scheduled for 6 p.m. on June 24 at Bob Crane Community Center in Upper Arlington. There is also a survey on COTA's website for people to help decide between two different routes through Dublin and Hilliard.

Pullin believes bus line 30 could help boost ridership, since the survey has shown that plenty of people would take the bus for the first time when this line opens.

“This is another delivery on the promise that is LinkUs,” said Pullin about the new bus line.

LinkUs is a transit initiative that Ohio residents voted for back in November. It's goal is to improve public transportation across central Ohio. Part of the initiative includes implementing bus rapid transit (BRT) lines, which will eventually operate on Broad Street but won't be ready until late 2028.
