The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reports the number of unemployed workers in April increased by 10,000 to 230,000.
Ohio's nonagricultural wage and salary employment decreased by 2,500 during the month, from a revised 5,640,100 in March to 5,637,600 in April.
In April 2023, the unemployment rate in the state was 3.4%.
The U.S. unemployment rate is 3.9%. That also increased from 3.8% in March 2024.
