Columbus-based health software company CoverMyMeds announced Wednesday it is laying off a total of 815 employees.

A company spokesperson confirmed the layoffs, saying in part, "Today we made some difficult announcements related to our people and our workplaces...Our commitment is to do everything we can to support our teammates through this transition with care and respect...Columbus remains an important location for CoverMyMeds, and it's where we'll strategically hire and grow the business."

As part of the cuts, a company office in Arizona is shutting down.

There's no word on whether any facilities in Columbus will close as a result of the cuts.
