Customers at several Dollar General locations across Ohio arrived at stores Friday to find doors locked.
"It's always frustrating when something is closed," one shopper told WOSU. "I just came out to grab a few things, but ... it is what it is."
The company said in a statement that select stores were closed to address an "overnight systems error" and that the issue has since been resolved.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," the company said.
Attorney General Dave Yost said the shutdown was so that Dollar General could re-tag their shelf prices.
Ohio’s Dollar General stores are shutting down to re-tag all their shelf prices— exactly the reason we sued them.

Glad to see this first step—but we are going to insist on the court order to enforce continued compliance with Ohio’s market fairness laws. https://t.co/lfQh2rfq5W
Yost sued the Tennessee-based retailer in November for allegedly offering items on shelves at one price and then charging a higher price at the register.
Dollar General's legal team has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
On Twitter Friday, Yost said, "Glad to see this first step—but we are going to insist on the court order to enforce continued compliance with Ohio’s market fairness laws."
A hearing on the matter is set for Wednesday.
