A recently-retired Columbus firefighter was among the two people killed Tuesday when a small plane crashed into a car dealership in Marietta.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the two people killed as former Columbus firefighter Timothy Gifford, 49, and Eric Seevers, 45, of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
The patrol says the two men died when the Beechcraft 90 King Air they were riding in crashed into the Pioneer Buick GMC dealership around 7:15 a.m.
A spokeswoman for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority confirms the flight took off from John Glenn International Airport at 6:39 a.m. Tuesday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
