According to the American Mathematical Society, music and mathematics speak similar languages.
"Counting, rhythm, scales, intervals, patterns, symbols, harmonies, time signatures, overtones, tone, pitch. The notations of composers and sounds made by musicians are connected to mathematics."
In pianist Per Enflo's world, they constantly overlap. Enflo was a child prodigy in both music and mathematics, so it's no surprise he loves Mozart.
He will share that love with Columbus this Friday, as part of the 52nd annual Triune Concert Series at St. John’s Church, in downtown Columbus. In the finale to this year's concert series, Enflo performs Mozart's 23rd Piano Concerto with the Triune Concert Orchestra at 7:30 p.m.

Enflo will be joined by soprano Kimberly Monzón, who will sing not only Mozart, but also selections by Giacomo Puccini and Jeanine Tesori.
Along with an extensive performance schedule, Monzón is studying at Ohio State University, pursuing a doctorate of musical arts voice with a specialization in singing health. She will make her debut with the OSU Opera and Lyric Theatre as Magda in La Rondine this spring.
