Long-term care provides help to individuals when they are not able to perform basic daily activities such as preparing food, dressing, bathing, or managing medications by themselves. According to LongTermCare.gov, 70-percent of people turning age 65 can expect to use some form of long-term care in their lifetime.

And more than one-third of people receiving long-term care services are age 64 and younger, due to disabilities, accidents or chronic health conditions. However, long-term care can be expensive; the national median monthly rate for a one-bedroom unit in an assisted living facility is $3,500.

Here to discuss planning and paying for the possible long-term care needs for you or a loved one are Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio Vice President for Communications, LauriePetrie; andHORANVice President and Registered Representative, GregHoernschemeyer.
