Senator JD Vance continues to double down on his support for Donald Trump despite initial comments that were quite critical. Whether he is a true believer or a political opportunist is up for debate. Tom Nichols, staff writer at The Atlantic, joins the show.

Bullsh*t detector

For the past several years, Congressman Jim Jordan has been the chief bomb thrower from Ohio. Now JD Vance says, "Jim, hold my beer."

Vance recently used some colorful language while speaking about his opposition to the border security/Ukraine proposal from the podium of the Senate media room. He repeated the choice words in a press release.

And that was just the latest far-right stance and tone taken by JD Vance, the one-time venture capitalist, then best-selling memoirist, and self-described never-Trump guy.

On Sunday, on ABC’s This Week, George Stephanopoulos asked Vance what he would have done on Jan. 6, 2021, when Trump and his supporters came up with a plan to use fake electors in key states to swing the election Trump's way.

Vance made it clear that he would have taken a very different path if he had been vice president instead of Mike Pence.

While there were some issues with the 2020 election as there are with all elections – rules were changed to cope with the pandemic – every court case determined none of those issues or changes altered the result of the election.

Snollygoster of the week

The voters of Nevada, particularly those in the Republican Primary, found that the primary held little significance.

Despite a presidential primary being on the ballot, Donald Trump's name was not included, leaving Nikki Haley, some lesser-known candidates and the option of "None of these candidates." "None of these candidates" emerged victorious, winning by a landslide—63% to Nikki Haley's 31%.
