It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over
Republican Troy Balderson declared victory on Tuesday night but Democrat Danny O’Connor is not conceding. The latest results show Balderson with about a 1,500 vote lead but more than 8,400 outstanding ballots are left to be counted.
Republicans spent millions of dollars and brought in both the president and vice president to support Balderson. The fact that the race is so close in a gerrymandered district, which has leaned Republican for decades, is seen a good sign for Democrats.
No matter what happens with the absentee and provisional ballots, Balderson and O'Connor will face off again in November.

Our governor was on hand to analyze the results of the 12th District race, a seat he held for 18 years. Even Kasich, who endorsed Balderson late in the campaign, said the election wasn't great news for Republicans.
"There's no question that people sent a message to the party, to Republican to knock it off," Kasich said. "The chaos, the divisions, I mean, kids being separated from their parents at the border, these crazy tariffs."
