It's been a wild 12 months for Jim Obergefell, the Cincinnati man behind what's considered the most important case in LGBT rights history.

Obergefell went from relative obscurity to a celebrity in the LGBT community after his legal challenge against the state of Ohio led to same-sex marriage being legalized nationwide.

Obergefell details his move from private citizen to gay rights protagonist in his new book "Love Wins: The Lovers and Lawyers Who Fought the Landmark Case for Marriage Equality."

WOSU's Steve Brown spoke to Obergefell about his new book and the past year of his life. Click the play button above to hear more.
