Donor-Advised Funds

The lobby of the WOSU headquarters

Donor-advised funds are a convenient and easy way to organize your charitable intentions.

Your financial and charitable goals are a reflection of your commitment to support the future of your loved ones and the charitable organizations you value. But it can be difficult to keep track of the organizations you wish to support and the documents required to receive your benefits from charitable gifts. A convenient and easy way to organize your charitable intentions is to create a donor-advised fund.

The Ohio State University Foundation’s Donor Advised Fund gives you the opportunity to decide which WOSU and Ohio State programs and other eligible charities to support according to your own timetable and interests outside of WOSU and Ohio State.

Simplify your giving. For more information contact the WOSU Advancement Team at 614-292-9878 or advancement@wosu.org.

How It Works

Establish Your Donor-Advised Fund
Make a gift of cash, long-term appreciated stocks or bonds, or other eligible long-term appreciated assets ($10,000 minimum gift). Receive an immediate income tax charitable deduction when the fund is established.

Grow Your Fund In One Of Our Investment Options
Your fund has the potential to grow based on your investment preferences. Assets are managed and administered through our partner, The Columbus Foundation, which gives you the option to invest in one of the approved Vanguard family of funds.

Distribute Your Fund
Recommend grants to WOSU, Ohio State and other desired charities. At least 50 percent of total gifts must be designated to WOSU and Ohio State. The donor-advised fund will make the grant payment, manage tax reporting and provide you with a tax receipt.
