Instagram is now requiring users to give their birthday before they use the photo sharing app.

A New York Times investigation analyzed 2.1 million Instagram posts to document the rise of girl influencers, the parents who promote them and the men who click and watch the images.

The investigation looked at social media accounts run by the parents of minor children and who is following these accounts.

Eighty percent of people in North America can’t see the Milky Way, because the night sky is awash in artificial lighting. Light pollution is blamed for killing millions of birds in the U.S. and messing with the reproductive schedules of other animals. Humans aren’t immune either.
