Republican lawmakers want to make it harder for Ohioans to amend the Ohio Constitution.
No longer would a simple majority carry the day. Rather, all future amendments would need to pass by 60 percent of the vote, and that could affect a range of voter-led initiatives such as abortion and redistricting.
