This episode originally aired on May 11, 2022.

The city of Columbus, the ACLU, and Equitas Health recently sued the state over its 'medical conscience clause' law. The Ohio law passed in 2021gives doctors, nurses and pharmacists the right to object to performing certain procedures or dispensing medication. A growing number of states are passing or considering passing similar laws.

Today we look at how medical conscience clauses work, the history behind them, and what it means for patient care.
