For many students a PhD is a bridge to nowhere. They are saddled with huge amounts of debt pursuing a degree tailored to an academic career but those jobs are limited. New PhD authors examine the failed graduate education reforms of the past and present a plan to fix it.
In their book “The New PhD: How to Build A Better Graduate Education,” authors Leonard Cassuto and Robert Weisbuch argue universities should be readying graduate students for the jobs they will get beyond academia and the need for changes to graduate education.
