The minimum wage in Ohio increases 15 cents in January, to $8.70 per hour for non-tipped workers.
Six states, plus the District of Columbia, are phasing in a $15 an hour minimum.
That puts Ohio somewhere in the middle of the rest of the pack, with 23 states mandating higher minimum wage levels and 20 others either matching or defaulting to the lower federal minimum of $7.25.
