The Columbus Blue Jackets are headed to a second round in the NHL playoffs for the first time in the 19-year history of the franchise and after a four-game sweep against the No. 1 seed Tampa Bay Lightning.

For many, the turning point on Tuesday evening occurred late in the second period, when the score evened up and everyone in Nationwide Arena stood to cheer the Jackets through a tight spot. Oliver Bjorkstrand obliged the fans with a goal during a delayed penalty with just 1:14 left in the period.

Today on All Sides, we talk with a few of the folks who have been there from the beginning in 2000 to see the Blue Jackets make history in 2019.

Guests:

  • Bill Davidge, Columbus Blue Jackets broadcaster and analyst on FOX Sports Ohio
  • Aaron Portzline, Blue Jackets sports reporter, The Athletic
  • Michael Arace, Columbus Dispatch sports columnist
