A central Ohio man has been sentenced to five years in prison for embezzling more than $26 million from his employer.
Yi He, 36, of Powell is required to pay back restitution to the Roundhill Furniture company in Columbus as part of his sentence.
Court documents state Yi was responsible for payroll and payroll tax-related duties.
He embezzled money from the company's bank account from 2018 until 2022. Yi also transferred the money into his own personal and financial investment accounts. Authorities say Yi submitted false and fraudulent bank and financial statements to remain undetected.
Yi pleaded guilty in August 2023 to committing wire fraud and filing a false tax return.
