2016 General Election Results Are In For Franklin County

Nearly 20,000 more ballots were cast in Franklin County for the 2016 general election compared to the 2012 general election.

The Franklin County Board of Elections has shared the certified results from the November 8 general election.

The board reports that of all the registered voters in Franklin County, about 70 percent cast their ballot on November 8. Nearly 20,000 more ballots were cast compared to the last presidential election in 2012.

In the race for president, Hillary Clinton won the majority of votes at nearly 60 percent. Donald Trump with about 34 percent.

For senate, former Ohio governor Ted Strickland took nearly 52 percent of the vote, his incumbent Rob Portman, about 45 percent.
