Bernie Delegate Worried About Email Scandal Hanging Over "Facade Of Unity"

Karen Kasler
Former State Sen. Nina Turner (D-Cleveland) is an elected Bernie Sanders delegate.

One Ohio party leader who’s at the DNC as an elected delegate for Bernie Sanders says she’s very worried about the effect of the email scandal involving the outgoing Democratic Party chair.

Former State Sen. Nina Turner of Cleveland is concerned.

“The facade of unity is not going to carry out until some folks really start to address this issue and give voice to the issue,” she said.

Turner says the Democratic Party needs to address the leaked e-mails that show Debbie Wasserman Schultz slammed Bernie Sanders and wasn’t neutral in her role as party chair – and that pro-Bernie demonstrators might not come out to vote if they don’t hear that.

“We have to say we're going to do things in a different way, that we need you," Turner said. "People want to be asked to the dance.”

And as for whether she’s on board with Hillary Clinton, Turner only says she’s trying to get through this week.
