Ohio Man Dies After Struggling With Police Officers

A 29 year old man died after Mansfield police shocked him with a Taser.

Authorities say a 29-year-old man has died after being electronically shocked by police and struggling with officers in the northeast Ohio city of Mansfield.

The man has been identified as 29-year-old Terrance Moxley. A Mansfield police news release says officers were called to a Volunteers of America facility around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a combative resident. The news release says Moxley had repeatedly slammed a door open and shut, damaging a steel frame.

Police say Moxley allowed officers to handcuff him but then became agitated and refused to walk, forcing officers to carry him outside to a cruiser. Police say Moxley began fighting with officers, who fired two rounds with a Taser. Moxley broke free of the handcuffs but then went limp. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
