Columbus Council Of PTAs Declines To Back Levy Campaign

A coalition of Columbus’ PTA clubs reportedly will not endorse the district’s levy campaign. The group voted this week to not take a position on the levy that would mean about $400 in new annual property taxes for the average Columbus home. They're also not supporting or opposing a proposal to create a new auditor position that would report to a city commission. Mayor Michael Coleman and interim superintendent Dan Good continue their campaign FOR the levy tonight with a Southside townhall meeting. The two ballot issues were recommended by the mayor's education commission. The commission was appointed after news that several high-ranking school employees retroactively changed thousands of attendance records.
