OSU Takes Role In Anti-Discrimination Effort

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith says athletics have long been too accepting of anti-gay sentiments. “So what we want to do is create a culture of acceptance, regardless of your personal interests or what you do. It’s OK.â€? Smith made his comments on All Sides with Ann Fisher Tuesday morning. Leaders of the “You Can Playâ€? campaign say they appreciate OSU’s participation and hope it’s a sign that major athletics programs are less accepting of discrimination.
