Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith says athletics have long been too accepting of anti-gay sentiments. âSo what we want to do is create a culture of acceptance, regardless of your personal interests or what you do. Itâs OK.â? Smith made his comments on All Sides with Ann Fisher Tuesday morning. Leaders of the âYou Can Playâ? campaign say they appreciate OSUâs participation and hope itâs a sign that major athletics programs are less accepting of discrimination.
