VP Biden To Speak At Ohio Labor Picnic

Vice President Joe Biden will speak to a major union Labor Day gathering in the key electoral state of Ohio, as the Obama administration works on ways to counter the nation's unemployment woes. Biden will be the featured speaker at Monday's annual AFL-CIO picnic near Cincinnati, expected to draw up to 15,000 people. Organizers say this is the 25th Labor Day picnic, a must-go event for Democratic politicians in southwest Ohio. Ohio unions are gearing up for a fall campaign to overturn a law passed this year that restricts collective bargaining for the state's public employees. President Barack Obama spoke at the picnic two years ago while rallying support for his health care overhaul. He'll be in Detroit on Monday; on Thursday he unveils his jobs plan.
