The Ohio Democratic party has posted a video on its website that shows Republican Gubernatorial candidate John Kasich talking about how he was one of two people who worked out of a Columbus based office for Lehman Brothers during the last few years of the company's existence. But that spot also shows clips of Kasich on major news shows describing his role at the company as someone who was key in making major decisions.
Democratic Party chief Chris Redfern says Kasich can't have it both ways. This criticism of Kasich is not new. And recent polls show Kasich's is still neck and neck with Governor Strickland. So why is Redfern still talking about it?
"People across the state are asking. Because a few folks here on capitol square were pressed on other issues, other stories, aren't asking those questions doesn't mean that people across the state aren't. And I can tell you, if Lehman Brothers was not a bog deal in John Kasich's life, why isn't it on his website." Says Redfern
A spokesman for Kasich, Rob Nichols, says his candidate has nothing to hide.
"Of course not, John talks about his time at Lehman Brothers in every speech he gives. These speeches, many of them are posted on the website. Quite frankly we don't think that this is the issue that most Ohioans care about." Says Nichols.
Nichols adds Ohioans are concerned about high employment and 386,000 jobs that have been lost since Strickland took office. He says Ohioans are more interested in what his candidate can do to bring needed jobs to the buckeye state.
